If you’re going to eat fruits, stay away from everything except a handful of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and boysenberries. Everything else has too much natural sugar in it which could end up giving you a spike in blood sugar level –> insulin levels to soar –> cellular inflammation –> BAD.

Yes, that would mean that bananas, watermelons, oranges, apples, grapes, etc. are all too high in natural sugars if you have an acne or health problem. They are other sources of food that can give the same nutritional value without the spike in blood sugar level.

The berries that I’ve listed are not only much lower in natural sugar than most other fruits, but they also contain a lot of anti-oxidants. I’m sure many of us have probably heard of this “anti-oxidant” rave that’s been going around. But really, do most of us understand what this is about? Anti-oxidants are what counter free radicals. Okay, what are free radicals? Free radicals are what are produced when you eat bad foods like fried foods. For now, just know that free radicals tear up your system and organs by taking away electrons. Anti-oxidants neutralize them. The more anti-oxidants you have in your body, the less likely free radicals will harm you. There’s actually a lot more detail on this subject, but I don’t think most people are interested in the details. But for now, I just wanted to give you the general idea why everyone is so into this thing called “anti-oxidants.”

One side note is that Granny Smith’s Green Apples are okay to eat. But only so long as they’re Granny Smith GREEN apples because they’re a lot lower in natural sugar than normal apples.

Fruit is designed to be quickly absorbed by the body. So you should eat fruit on an empty stomach. A lot of people make this mistake and usually have fruit with or immediately after their meals. Preferably, you should have it in the morning, as breakfast, when you’re stomach is still empty. It is an excellent source of energy for breakfast and quick healthy too.

I don’t really eat fruits though. Yeah, I know, that was a little bit of a shocker. In general, you can get by without fruits because whether high or low natural sugar levels, they all contain natural sugar which can feed the Candida or bad bacteria living in your stomach. Eventually, it may be okay to eat fruits, but for now, I really just don’t see the need. I can get most of my daily vitamin needs through supplements and most of my fiber via salads or supplements. There’s really no need for me to risk it. I came to this decision after eating the daily amount of the berries that I recommended, it caused my acne to break out a bit so I stopped and the acne lessened too.

Don’t get me wrong, fruits aren’t bad, it just depends on your situation. I had pretty bad acne and a Candida infection (if you have acne you probably do too). As a matter of fact, 90% of Americans have a Candida infection, so you probably do too. One of the first signs is that white film on your tongue when you wake up in the morning that gives you bad breadth. So my point is, if you have a minor case of acne and really like fruit, by all means, go for it. But if you have a serious case of acne and want to be strict with yourself, it’s best to stay away from fruit for a while.

So how do I get my body to a place where I can FINALLY eat fruits?

The solution to curing your acne is to not focus on improving your health in the commonly accepted way.   Now, what I’m NOT saying is to not work out, not eat healthy, and not wash your skin.  That is NOT what I’m saying.  However, what I am saying is that what we believe now to be “taking care” of our bodies needs to be tweaked a little bit, especially if you have acne.  And that “tweak” that you’re looking for is exactly what How To Clear Your Acne is about.

What every acne sufferer must learn, especially the ones that are really fit and health conscious yet still can’t figure out why they still have acne, is that there is a DIFFERENT KIND OF TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY ROUTINE for us.  Our bodies are different than the “average” person who eats whatever they want and just gains weight.  Sometimes our bodies, which you’ve probably already noticed, doesn’t even gain weight.  Sometimes, when we neglect our bodies, we just end up breaking out instead.  And it sucks.

It doesn’t make any sense that we’re working out, getting a good sweat, going to a sauna, washing our face, and then doing a facial mask yet we STILL breakout.  WHY?!

So whatever you do, don’t just keep working out and trying to eat “healthy” thinking that something’s going to change and that your acne is suddenly going to start clearing up if you just try harder.

I know this doesn’t work.  Because that’s what I used to do.  I would just redouble my efforts thinking that I wasn’t trying hard enough.  But that’s not the answer and it’s not going to cure your acne.

You need to stop and think.  Reformulate a new plan.  Really try and understand what’s going on.  Figure out the WHY.

It’s questions just like these that I racked my brain for years!   I’ve been in your shoes before and it’s hard to really know what works and what doesn’t.  It just seems like there are so many acne products out there, it’s hard to really find out with ones are telling the truth and which ones are lying. I’ve bought a lot of them too, Clearasil, Murad, ProActiv, those are just to name a few that I’ve tried.  I used to have use a lot of acne products such as aloe vera, benzoyl peroxide, face creams, masks, etc… But these days, I barely even wash my face once a day sometimes, and I’m still clear. I’m proof that clearing your acne the healthy and natural way works. And it’s permanent too, I still have clear skin and I have no problems maintaining acne free, clear skin.

And I finally figured out the perfect routine and way to care for our bodies and our skin if you have acne.  The true causes of acne are really dirty blood and an overwhelmed system. For anybody reading this article, if you’re serious about clearing your acne for good, the logical next step for you would be to learn about your body. It doesn’t matter if you choose me or someone else, I would highly recommend you to start learning about how to clear your acne from the inside instead of concentrating on the outside. Make sure you know that outside acne treatments are only short term, and that you really want to focus on clearing acne from the inside out.

    Thanks, you’re article made a lot of sense but i was wondering – so should i just try to eat as few sweet foods as possible? If i was a perfect person, would i not eat anything besides certain meat and vegetables and those fruits?

    Are there any fruits that you would recommend acne prone people eat besides those berries? I do like blue berries, strawberries, etc, but they’re pretty expensive and i cant afford to buy much at a time…

    I agree about being careful with fruits, but as you said everyone is different. I have had blood sugar issues since childhood when I consumed too much sugar. I only eat 80 grams or less of grapefruit (with the white rind) with my nightly meal – I never eat fruit with breakfast or lunch and never alone on an empty stomach. I can eat sugar with oats, since the oats slow the absorption, but never for breakfast. I never eat sugar for breakfast.

    This is nonsense, you actually recommend to eat nothing, just live with pills. It’s a bit dangerous. You’re like 22, but many peaple who face acne problems and search what cause it are like 14 – 17 old. They are growning people, they need more food ration. I mean your’re doing perfectly here by trying to help but teenagers can understand you a bit diffrent.

      HI, this is the first time I’ve ever READ anything about fruit and acne. However A FEW YEARS AGO STOPPING FRUIT WAS WHAT WORKED FOR ME! I had suffered with painful pimples on my bottom since I was six years old! (Yeah too young to have even heard of acne). For 25 years I searched for a cure, including stopping all sources of ADDED CANE sugar, like sweats, cakes, soft drinks, cookies etc. At aged 31 a doctor finally told me to stop eating fruit. And hey presto: the bum pimples vanished! But only when I cut out ALL fruit (ONLY lemons WERE ok) including making sure I didn’t accidently eat fruit juice/rind that was added to other food like yogurt, medicines, cookies, cake, etc AND BONUS! MY eternally blocked nose cleared up too. I now find if I eat even one grape, or a drop of jam I break out – (in proportion to the amount of fruit I have eaten). I love fruit and hope that one day I will be able to eat it again, but right now it’s just not worth it.

        Yeah, a lot of people think that fruit is a must all the time. But just because it has “natural sugar” doesn’t mean that it’s always good for you. It just means that it’s better than artificial sugar, etc..
